As we close out this year and step into the next, I’m reminded of a quote from one of my
greatest mentors, Oprah Winfrey:
“Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that
experience can instill in us. Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it
right.”
At bcd-IT and bcd-IT University, this message resonates deeply. Every project, every
collaboration, every misstep, and every breakthrough throughout the year contributes to the wisdom we carry forward — not only as designers, architects, builders, and contractors, but as human beings navigating life.
Because the truth is:
- How we grow in business is often a reflection of how we grow personally.
Year’s end invites us to recognize the full spectrum of our experiences.
In our businesses, it reminds us to:
- refine what worked
- release what didn’t
- learn from every decision
- build stronger processes, systems, and strategies
- pursue the clients and projects that align with who we’ve become
In our personal lives, it encourages us to:
- acknowledge the lessons we’ve gained
- appreciate how far we’ve come
- offer ourselves grace
- stay open to possibility
- keep moving forward with intention and clarity
This season isn’t about starting over. It’s about continuing on — wiser, steadier, and more aligned than before.
As we enter a new year, I hope you feel empowered by every moment that brought you
