Consider This Before Shutting Down

Between the holidays and new years our business tends to slow down or even shut down a little bit

I’m here to be the voice saying, let’s look from a 30,000 foot view!

What needs to be in place BEFORE you step back?

Here’s a few things to consider for a year-end shutdown and plan for a strong start in January!

  1. Wrap Up Loose Ends
    • Complete any outstanding invoices or pending payments
    • Follow up on unfinished projects and ensure clients are aware of next steps in the new year
    • Send thank-you emails or notes to clients, contractors, and vendors for their work and partnership
  2. Organize the Workspace
    • Clean up both physical and digital workspaces:
      • Organize tools, files, and equipment.
      • Digitize receipts and documents for smooth accounting.
      • Back up all project files and clear any digital clutter.
  3. Review Performance (arguably the most important thing you should do for your business)
    • Take stock of the past year: Which projects were most profitable?
    • Which processes caused the most bottlenecks?
    • What changes could make things smoother next year?
  4. Prioritize Rest and Recharge
    • Plan time off for you and your team. A well-rested business owner will hit the ground running in January.
    • Set boundaries with clients and vendors so everyone knows when operations will pause and resume.

I’m cheering you on to FINISH STRONG!

Remember, when you’re not there there’s no new business coming in.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday! We are grateful for your support.

I hope 2025 brings everything that you’re hoping for!
